Kariveppilai Kuzhambu / Curry leaves Curry

Its a wonderful curry to eat with rice. It also a good side dish for Dosa..



Ingredients:

  • Onion Shallots - 10-12
  • Tomato -2 chopped
  • Tamarind - 1 lemon size
  • Curry leaves - fresh leaves - 1 cup
  • Mustard seeds
  • Fenugreek seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Gingelly oil -- 1 tbsp
  • Sambar powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt
  • Green Chilly - 1

Method:


  • Fry curry leaves in gingely oil and make it a paste.
  • Add oil, season iwith mustard and fenugreek seeds then add onion, Fry them well.
  • Add green chilly splitted. Add two tomatoes. Dont add water till the tomato is cooked.
  • Then add sambar powder, turmericpowder and salt to taste.Cook until it forms like a thick gravy.
  • Add tamarind water mixed with curry leaves paste.
    Allow it to cook till the oil releases on top of it.
